Why did INNOVV choose 77GHz instead of 24GHz?

📡 Detection Range

Thanks to its wider available bandwidth and higher power ceiling, the 77GHz radar achieves a longer detection range. At the same time relative speed, this translates to:

Earlier Detection:​ Identifies hazardous targets at a greater distance.
Longer Warning Window:​ Provides the rider with more time to react.

🎯 Range Resolution

The range resolution (ΔR) of a radar is determined by its bandwidth (B), as described by the formula ΔR = c / (2B). Higher resolution means the system can more accurately judge the distance and position of a target.

  • 24GHz Radar:​ With approximately 200 MHz of available bandwidth, its theoretical range resolution is about 75 cm.
  • 77GHz Radar:​ With up to 4 GHz of bandwidth, its theoretical resolution is between 3.75 and 4 cm.

💨 Velocity Resolution

Velocity resolution is proportional to frequency (f). The 77GHz radar, with a frequency roughly three times that of the 24GHz radar, can detect finer changes in a target's velocity.

This enables the 77GHz system to identify accelerating vehicles posing a risk sooner and more accurately, issuing alerts earlier to give the rider more time to prepare.

📐 Angular Resolution

For the same antenna size, a higher frequency produces a narrower beam, resulting in higher angular resolution. The 77GHz radar's angular resolution is approximately three times that of a 24GHz radar.

This allows it to precisely "lock on" to fast-approaching vehicles from the side or rear. Even when multiple vehicles are traveling in parallel, it can accurately identify the true threat, enabling more reliable lane-change assistance.

150° Ultra-Wide Detection

The "third eye" radar covers a 150° wide angle. It is equipped with high-frequency sensors that can monitor fast-approaching vehicles from the sides and rear in real-time, helping you capture abnormal information that may be missed in the rearview mirror.

50m detection distance

Whether in urban traffic or on the highway, the "third eye" provides protection for your ride. It has a detection range of 50 meters and will send real-time alerts when fast-moving vehicles approach from behind within that distance, ensuring you don't miss any warnings even in the most crowded conditions.

77GHz System for Earlier and Safer Alerts

Compared to traditional 24GHz radar, the 77GHz system used in Third Eye delivers alerts from farther away — up to 50 meters — with faster response time and improved accuracy. That means more time to react, and much safer rides.

No lights come on after turning on the ignition, even though the wires are well connected.

1. Please check if the fuse is burned.
2. Please check that the wires are connected correctly and firmly. Make sure the input voltage is between 9V and 16V with 0.5A. The red wires must connect to the ACC, while the black wire connects to the negative pole of the battery.

Only power indicator is on, the alert light is off.
