Firmware Update Details

BMW Version Firmware V1.2 0611

  • Optimized:​ Eliminated freezing issue when re-entering CarPlay.
  • Fixed:​ Mileage unit display error on the main UI.
  • Changed:​ Default CarPlay view set to Large Icons.
  • Changed:​ LED display now defaults to OFF.
  • Improved:​ OTA updates now show a download progress bar.
  • Added:​ Italian language support.

Update Requirements: Ensure a Micro SD card​ is installed in the device. Connect the device to a stable Wi-Fi network​ before starting the OTA update.

If the OTA (over-the-air) update fails due to a firmware issue, please download the firmware update package via the link below and perform a manual update using a microSD card.

What you'll need:​ a microSD card (8–32 GB).

Offline Firmware Update Guide

Offline Firmware Update:

1. Prepare a compliant microSD card, insert it into the N3, and format the card using the N3 initialization function.
2. Remove the microSD card, connect it to a card reader, and insert both into your computer.
3. Download the latest firmware file from the official website and copy it to the microSD card.
4. Power on the N3, insert the microSD card containing the firmware, and click confirm when the update prompt appears within a few seconds.
5. The N3 will enter update mode. Ensure continuous power supply throughout the process. After completion, restart the device and check the version number to confirm success.

OTA Update:

1. Prepare a compatible microSD card, insert it into the N3, and format the card using the N3 initialization function.
2. Enter the N3 Firmware Update​ interface, connect to Wi-Fi, and click Check Updates​ to start the update (Note: This is not the QX Check Updates function).
3. The N3 will enter update mode. Ensure continuous power supply throughout the process. After completion, restart the device and check the version number to confirm success.
*Important Note:​ If you downloaded a file that requires unzipping, please extract it before copying it to the microSD card.

FAQs

Can I use N3 on motorcycles other than BMW?

Yes. N3 is not limited to BMW motorcycles. BMW riders can benefit from compatible mount support, while riders of other motorcycle brands can install N3 with the appropriate mounting solution.

Can the screen still be seen clearly in sunlight?

Yes. N3 features up to 1200 nits of peak brightness, helping keep the screen easier to read under bright daylight riding conditions.

Can BMW riders add cameras using the OEM BMW mount?

No. The OEM BMW mount supports the display-only setup. To use camera functions, a dedicated BMW bracket is required.

Why is my device flashing a red light?

The red light indicates that the device does not detect a Micro SD card.

This is normal behavior and does not affect the functionality. If you wish to turn it off, please follow this path:

Settings > More > LED Indicator > Select "Off"

Why is music playing from the device itself instead of my headphones?

This usually happens when the audio output is not routed correctly to the helmet. To fix it : settings > D/V > Sound Source > Select “Phone”
